Pen there, turned that….Handcrafted pens and more
Local Bulverde resident and woodworker, Gary Dawson, has been doing carpentry projects since boyhood. Although his work life has been in the computer industry, woodworking is his artistic outlet. Only since 2012 did he begin working on a lathe doing wood turning projects. Pen making has now become a stress reliever and a passion which he manages to fit in between a Computer Consulting, serving on the Bulverde P&Z board, the SBB Lions Club, and the Friends of the Park.
Locally acquired wood is his favorite starting material and Gary offers to make “personalized” pens and other turned items out of wood from your own land if you can provide a piece to work with. He has done this with an oak from the new Bulverde Park site and presented the pens to the city council and park enthusiasts. If you are interested in having Gary make an item from your own wood, ask at “Be Fabulous Boutique”.
